Celebrating Paleo with Cream’s 2nd Birthday! Paleo Pizza with Bacon & Sweet Potatoes.

It’s been a great two years of cooking, eating and blogging. So to celebrate I must go back to my first post, the one that started this collection of paleo/primally inspired, sometimes LCHF recipes.  Pizza made with cauliflower crust, bacon, cheese and sour cream.  What’s not to like about this?

For anyone who has not tried using a cauliflower crust as a pizza base, you are in for a taste sensation…

There are many blogs using a cauliflower crust for their pizzas, but I particularly like the one from The Iron You which I have adapted here. Inspiration for the topping came from restaurants 6,500 miles apart; GPK in Auckland, New Zealand and Jupiter’s Pizza in Berkeley, CA, USA. Both places used sliced potato, so the Primal clean-up was simply to use the more nutrient dense sweet potato.  I encourage you to experiment with your favourite toppings.

Mother’s Day Treat Orange Cupcakes, Grain & Gluten Free Gifts to Bake with Love

With Mother’s Day coming up this is a time to spoil your mother or the mother of your children! Creating food for others to enjoy can be the most wonderful gift of love.  What better way to show your love and appreciation than by baking with love for love. But if you are like me, without that special person to spoil, then I say let’s spoil ourselves in her memory!  I made these lovely little orange cakes for just this purpose last year.  As you can see I am a great believer in the saying, don’t mess with a good formula! Is that a saying or did I just make that up?  No matter, just go bake them, make them look pretty and serve with a dollop of love, on a beautiful plate or beautifully presented in a lovely wrapped gift box.

So what were you doing at 17?  Me, well least said on that matter is best. I can say though it was nothing really productive.

Unlike this young woman who, when diagnosed with Celiac disease and a lot of food intolerances decided to take her healing into her own hands. So I am a great admirer of Alessandra, the Foodie Teen and have been following her blog for the past couple of years.  Not only is she a fantastic cook, writer, food blogger and food photographer, but she has recently had a cookbook published!!  Pretty awesome achievement at any age, pretty outstanding at 17!

Check out her latest recipe, LIME CAKE WITH COCONUT YOGURT DRIZZLE AND FRESH BERRIES and you will know exactly what I mean.
